The Head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Epiphanius, led the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Lviv.
The Metropolitan congratulated everyone on the Feast of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as on the Day of Defenders of Ukraine.

Let us remind you, that the Head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Epiphanius, congratulated the Ukrainian warriors on the Feast of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, and the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks.
As Epiphanius noted, the courage and resilience of the defenders of Ukraine inspire and give hope for a peaceful future. The Metropolitan emphasized that for the Ukrainian people, the defenders are the new heroes.
Today, at 9:00 AM on October 1, on the Day of Defenders in Kyiv, car and pedestrian traffic halted, and people stood to honor the memory of fallen Heroes.
By the way, "Ukrposhta" officially issued a charitable postage stamp "Under the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary", which is dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine.
