Spanish company Iberdrola together with BP have demonstrated their joint initiative - building a green hydrogen production plant in Castellón, Spain.
The project will receive an EU subsidy of 15 million euros and will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions in Castellón.
BP and Iberdrola will finance the project equally, but the cost of its construction is unknown.
Green hydrogen production is a process of extracting it from water through electrolysis using energy from wind and solar power plants.
This project is part of the strategy to combat carbon emissions and improve energy security in Europe.
In addition, other companies are also actively collaborating in the field of green hydrogen. In particular, Lhyfe, OX2, and Velarion have joined forces to create one of the largest industrial clusters in Europe in Sweden.
