Doctors named the most dangerous ice cream: what to pay attention to when buying.

Doctors and healthy eating experts urge Ukrainians to be careful when choosing ice cream in stores. Some types of the popular summer dessert have ingredients that can negatively affect health.
With rising temperatures, ice cream becomes one of Ukrainians' favorite treats. However, doctors warn that not all ice creams are equally healthy for the body.
Which ice cream to avoid
Experts recommend avoiding ice cream with a lot of additives. 'If the ingredient list contains many unfamiliar names and the sugar and fat content is high, it's better to choose another ice cream,' say the specialists.
Particular attention should be paid to cheap ice cream 'made with vegetable fats.' Instead of natural dairy fats, palm or coconut oil is often used in such ice cream, which may be less healthy, especially if they are hydrogenated.
Even sorbets, which seem to be a healthier alternative, can be harmful due to their high sugar content and artificial components.
The most dangerous ingredients
Doctors highlight several particularly harmful components:
Hydrogenated oils (trans fats) increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases and raise the level of 'bad' cholesterol.
High-fructose corn syrup, a cheap sugar substitute, is associated with a risk of developing diabetes and obesity.
Artificial colorings and titanium dioxide can cause allergic reactions and other health problems.
Certain emulsifiers and stabilizers can lead to digestive issues and inflammatory processes in the intestines.
How to choose safe ice cream
Experts recommend looking for ice cream made according to DSTU 4733 - the Ukrainian standard for milk-based ice cream. If the packaging indicates DSTU 4735, it means that animal fat substitutes are used.
Ukrainian doctors and healthy eating experts warn about the risks posed by choosing certain types of ice cream. To maintain health, it is advisable to avoid products with harmful additives and choose milk-based ice cream according to the Ukrainian standard DSTU 4733.
Doctors and experts emphasize the importance of carefully selecting ice cream and place special emphasis on the harmfulness of certain ingredients that can lead to various diseases. Recommendations for making safe ice cream will help avoid negative health consequences.
