Memory of the warrior Oleksandr Ostashevskyi
Every day at 9 a.m. Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Oleksandr Ostashevskyi.
The defender of Ukraine, Senior Sergeant Oleksandr Ostashevskyi, returned home to his native Kostopil. This was reported by 'Hlavkom' citing the Kostopil City Council.
Oleksandr Ostashevskyi was born on November 10, 1972, in the village of Solomka, but spent his entire life in Kostopil. He studied at school No. 4 and later at the Kostopil Building and Technology College, where he obtained a specialty as a painter and plasterer. At the same Time, he actively engaged in biathlon - held the title of candidate master of sports, with dozens of certificates, medals, and honors.
In 1991 he joined the army, where he obtained the rank of Senior Sergeant. After military service, he got married and found a job - first at KP 'Komunenerhiya', and for the last 10 years, he worked at a glass factory in a construction brigade.
In June 2024, he was mobilized for military service. He served as a shooter. In July of the same year, during a combat mission in Donetsk region, contact with him was lost. Only recently was his death officially confirmed.
The warrior's life was cut short on July 23, 2024. Oleksandr Ostashevskyi was buried on May 8 at the 'Nove' cemetery in Kostopil.
He was kind, very kind. He helped people all his life, even when it was hard for him. He loved the land, nature, and especially children. He was our support. We waited for him until the last moment... And we will always remember, - says the defender's wife Oksana Ostashevska.
The defender is survived by two daughters, a wife, a mother, a brother, and a sister.
Honoring the bright memory of Ukrainian citizens who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state, we remember Oleksandr Ostashevskyi and all those killed by the hands of Russian invaders.
This is another proof of the great sacrifice made by war, and peace should always be the main goal of every society.
