Ukrzaliznytsia reports that five trains with upgraded cars run regularly in Ukraine.
These trains are named after prominent Ukrainian and European figures.
- Train No. 15/16 Kharkiv-Yasynya is named after Les Kurbas - a well-known European theater figure;
- Train No. 17/18 Kharkiv-Uzhhorod is named after Hryhorii Skovoroda, a prominent Ukrainian philosopher;
- Train No. 79/80 Dnipro-Lviv is named Sicheslav - it is the historical name of Katerynoslav, which it bore in 1918;
- Train No. 91/92 Kyiv-Lviv is called Leopold and consists of new cars that were manufactured during the war;
- Train No. 105/106 Kyiv-Odesa is named Chornomorets.
In the Ukrzaliznytsia app, you can find out which specific trains have upgraded cars before choosing your route. It is important to note that these trains do not cost more than others.
On these trains, you will meet:
- A branded name and logo that tell the story of the train and its route;
- An improved composition with new or refurbished cars that have vacuum toilets, air conditioning, sockets, USB charging devices, decoration tables, door alarms in compartments, and panic buttons;
- A corresponding designation in the app;
- A refreshed game library and exclusive railway sugar.
In addition, each train has its own musical accompaniment:
- In the Skovoroda train, the composition 'Parovoz' by Yevhen Khmara is played;
- In the Leopold train, the song 'City of Spring' performed by the band Odyn v Kanoe and Okean Elzy sounds;
- In the Sicheslav train, the track 'Good Evening, We are from Ukraine' by the band Probass & Hardi plays;
- In the Les Kurbas train, an instrumental version of the song 'Cheremshyna' sounds;
- In the Chornomorets train, the melody 'Edge of the Black Sea' by Tabachnikov is played.
The cost of tickets for these trains remains unchanged and the same as for any other trains with standard cars.
Also, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced additional trains for Christmas and New Year's holidays.
