Evacuation of children from over a hundred settlements in Sumy region announced.


Forced evacuation of children with families from 101 settlements in Sumy region
Due to the security situation, the authorities of Sumy region have decided on the forced evacuation of children with their families from 101 settlements. This was reported by the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories.
«Due to the security situation, a decision was made to forcibly evacuate children with their families from a number of settlements in Sumy region», the statement noted.
The decision on forced evacuation was supported by members of the Coordination Headquarters for Mandatory Evacuation of the Population under Martial Law. It is noted that this concerns 497 children from 101 settlements in Sumy region - 90 settlements in Sumy district and 11 settlements in Konotop district.
We remind you that the Sumy region and the Operational-Tactical Grouping «Siversk» have already signed a decree on forced evacuation of children and their parents from 90 settlements in the region.
Massive air strike on Sumy region
The Russian army is systematically shelling near Sumy region. On the night of September 17, the region suffered a massive air strike. An enemy drone attacked power system facilities, including water utilities and hospitals, which were involved in backup power systems.
Prior to this, forced evacuation had already been carried out in Hlukhiv, Svessa, and Esman in the Shostka district.
