Ukrainians abroad warned about changes: what is now with the payments for pensioners.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has announced how Ukrainians living abroad can receive their pensions.

Ukrainian citizens residing abroad can apply for a pension remotely and receive payments to their accounts at any Ukrainian bank.

As of March 20, the pension payment procedure for Ukrainians abroad has become simpler. Now pensioners can receive money in their accounts at any bank in Ukraine after passing physical identification.

Identification is needed to confirm that the pensioner is alive and personally using their funds.

How to pass identification:

• Personally visit the Ukrainian consulate, obtain a document, then write an application for the continuation of pension payments and send it along with the document by mail to the branch of the Pension Fund of Ukraine at the place of registration
• Log into the electronic cabinet of the Pension Fund using 'Diia.Signature'
• Pass video identification through one of the messengers: Google Meet, Signal, Skype, Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp, or Zoom
• Individuals who reach retirement age while abroad can submit an online application for a pension through the electronic portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

To do this, you need:

• Log into your account on the Pension Fund's website using an electronic signature.
• Go to the section 'Application for pension appointment'.
• Fill out the application (personal data, address data, data on documents confirming identity, contact details, etc.).
• Attach scanned copies of the necessary documents.
• Sign the application using an electronic signature and send it electronically to the Pension Fund.

After this, the application will be reviewed, and the decision will be communicated through the electronic cabinet.

Note that in 2025, the right to receive a pension for age in Ukraine will have the following categories of citizens:

• Ukrainians who reach 60 years of age, provided they have at least 32 years of insurance experience
• Individuals aged 63 who have at least 22 years of insurance experience
• Citizens who turn 65 years old, with less than 15 years of insurance experience.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine offers a simple and convenient way for Ukrainians living abroad to receive their pensions. Now they can receive their payments into a bank account at any bank in Ukraine after undergoing the identification procedure. This simplifies the process and makes it convenient for pensioners. The identification procedure can be passed personally at the Ukrainian consulate or through online services, such as video calls via popular messengers.
