Polish and German politicians disgraced at the Pope's funeral.

The selfie of the Speaker of the Polish Sejm, Shimon Hołownia, and the Prime Minister of Bavaria, Markus Söder, during the funeral of Pope Francis received criticism. In particular, Shimon Hołownia was accused of behaving like a high school student on a field trip and was urged to be more serious. For his part, Hołownia stated that he was not photographing himself, but rather the thousands of people present in St. Peter's Square. He also refused to engage in political disputes at that moment.
Markus Söder also faced criticism, having been accused of disrespecting the solemn event due to his smile in photographs taken before the funeral. Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, a German politician, believes that selfies from the funeral contain something indecent.
