Ukraine's Record Repetition. Geraskievich Takes Fourth Place in the World Cup Stage.


Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladislav Geraskievich finished fourth in the World Cup stage in Winterberg.
The World Cup in skeleton for 2025 kicked off in Winterberg, Germany. Two Ukrainian athletes participated in the competition - Vladislav Geraskievich and Yaroslav Lavrenyuk.
Last season, Geraskievich finished sixth in the overall World Cup standings with 760 points. Lavrenyuk also scored 137 points before the last stage in Sigulda.
Ukrainians' Performances in the World Cup Stage
In the first run, Geraskievich took third place. The Ukrainian showed the 10th Time at the start and lost to Austrian Samuel Maier and British Matt Weston only on the finish straight. He was just 0.02 seconds behind the fourth place.
The second Ukrainian, Yaroslav Lavrenyuk, showed the 31st result in the first run. His result was contested due to issues at the start, but the complaint was not accepted.
In the second run, Geraskievich improved his achievement at the start but lost time on the course. He finished in fourth place, yielding to Christopher Groetter.
The winner of the stage was British Matt Weston, who outpaced Austrian Samuel Maier. Geraskievich took fourth position.

This is Geraskievich's fourth success in the top-6 of the World Cup. Previously, he also finished fourth in the stage in Lake Placid in 2024.
