Participant of Eurovision from Norway has a connection with Sumy

Eurovision participant from Norway Kyle Alessandro talked about his connection with Sumy and how he learned Ukrainian. In a comment to Suspilne during the opening ceremony of the international song contest, he revealed this interesting detail.

«She (my stepmother – «Glavkom») is from Sumy. She taught me Ukrainian, the most commonly used phrases. For example, «I am tired», because I am very tired, as I work a lot. And also «How are you?», «Good morning», «Good night». I can also introduce myself», – said Kyle Alessandro.

First semifinal of Eurovision-2025

On the night of May 14, the first semifinal of the 69th Eurovision song contest took place in Basel. 18 countries participated: Ireland, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Spain, Ukraine, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, Belgium, Italy, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Albania, the Netherlands, Croatia, Switzerland, and Cyprus.

As a result, the first ten finalists were determined, among them Ukraine. Bookmakers predicted 8 out of 10 participants of the first semifinal correctly. The finalists are: Norway, Albania, Sweden, Iceland, the Netherlands, Poland, San Marino, Estonia, Portugal, and Ukraine.

It is also known that Ukraine will perform in the first half of the final concert along with representatives from Iceland and Spain.

The participation of each country in Eurovision is always an interesting and exciting event for fans of the contest, and the results of the final always provoke discussions among fans of European music.
