Russia attacked an energy facility in Poltava region: consumers were left without electricity.


On the night of January 15 to 16, Russian drones attacked Poltava region. Thanks to the air defense response, the attack was repelled.

According to Poltava OVA, no one was injured, but the energy facility was damaged, which caused power outages for some consumers:
Fortunately, there are no casualties. The energy infrastructure of the region has been damaged by drone debris. Currently, 301 private individuals and 22 legal entities are without electricity. Specialists are working on restoring power supply.
According to a study by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russians are conducting large-scale attacks on the Ukrainian energy grid with the aim of destroying it and limiting Ukraine's industrial potentials, as well as undermining the will of Ukrainians to fight.
Earlier, on the morning of January 15, Russian forces also attacked the energy infrastructure in Lviv region, as a result of which critical infrastructure facilities in Drohobych and Stryi districts were affected.
