SBU detained five arsonists in Kyiv region and Odesa, who worked for the Russian Federation.


Five collaborators, who on orders from Russian special services set fire to military vehicles and Ukrzaliznytsia facilities in Kyiv region and Odesa, were detained by law enforcement. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the SBU, the defendants were involved in the crime through Telegram channels, where they were promised easy money. However, they never received the promised sum.
In the Kyiv region, the SBU, together with the National Police, detained two individuals who set fire to a relay cabinet of Ukrzaliznytsia. One of the detainees is a repeat offender previously convicted of drug trafficking and hooliganism. He involved a 16-year-old student in the crime.
The criminals planned to continue a series of arsons at railway facilities to disrupt the logistics of the Defense Forces. In Odesa, three local residents were detained, who set fire to a military minibus and signaling equipment on the railway tracks near the city. At the Time of their detention, they were preparing for another arson.
All five were charged with committing sabotage, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law conditions.
The suspects are in custody. They face life imprisonment and property confiscation.
Previously, it was known that counterintelligence discovered and detained a traitor to Ukraine, who was a spy for Russia. The FSB informant operated in Sumy and Donetsk regions. The Russians recruited him through a dating site.
By the way, the Security Service of Ukraine detained an agent of the Russian military intelligence in Zaporizhzhia. He turned out to be a demobilized conscript of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with foreign partners and the State Border Guard Service, also detained Dmytro Chystylyn, an ideologist of Russian armed aggression.
