Eastern NATO flank: Poland plans to acquire 486 HIMARS systems from the USA.

Poland is negotiating to acquire missile systems from the USA
Poland has begun high-level negotiations with the United States to purchase up to 486 M142 HIMARS rocket systems, which will significantly enhance the country's long-range artillery capabilities. The negotiations are being conducted between the Polish Armaments Agency and Lockheed Martin.
Poland is also considering the possibility of local production of GMLRS guided missiles at Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa facilities. If the deal is successful, it will significantly modernize the country's artillery forces, with potential deliveries starting in 2026.
The M142 HIMARS, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, is a lightweight mobile rocket artillery system designed for rapid deployment and precise strikes.
These negotiations, which have been ongoing since early 2025, reflect Poland's ambitions to equip its armed forces with modern precision-guided rocket artillery. If the deal is concluded, Poland could become one of the most powerful rocket artillery forces in Europe.
