Defender's son of Ukraine died protecting Israeli civilians.

In the fight to protect Israeli civilians, Nazar Itkin, a soldier whose father also participated in the war with Russians, died. This was reported by Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Asman.
The Chief Rabbi noted that David Itkin, the father of the fallen soldier, though not young, joined the territorial defense at the very beginning of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. He participated in the defense of Kyiv region and then moved to the Kharkiv direction.
This is yet another proof that the war in Ukraine and in Israel is one common grief...
We recall that recently the family of the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine was tragically struck by a loss - his adoptive son, Matatyaga, died in the war.

The last Time the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine communicated with his son was on July 17. And already on July 24 during the battle, he went missing. His wife received an official document about his death.
