Sunflower oil and eggs are getting more expensive again: what is happening with prices in supermarkets.

According to the data from the Minfin portal, prices for sunflower oil and chicken eggs in Ukrainian supermarkets increased in June compared to the previous month. The average price of OLEINA sunflower oil is 82 hryvnias, while the price for first-category chicken eggs from Kvocika is 67.90 hryvnias. Other chains also have their own prices.
Competitive environment in the food market
In retail, Auchan sells OLEINA sunflower oil for 83.10 hryvnias, Novus for 81.99 hryvnias. Prices in Metro and Megamarket are 81.50 and 81.40 hryvnias, respectively. As for chicken eggs of the Yasensvit brand, they can be purchased at various prices in Auchan, Novus, and Megamarket.
The rise in prices for sunflower oil and chicken eggs in Ukrainian supermarkets in June creates a competitive environment in the food market, as different retail chains set their own prices. The competition for consumers remains relevant in this market segment.
The number of supermarket visitors may vary depending on food prices, so the dynamics of prices for sunflower oil and chicken eggs are important for both sellers and consumers. Price increases can provoke competition among retail chains, promoting a wider selection and opportunities for buyers.Read also
