The USA reported "alarming signals" of cooperation between Russia and China.

The USA is concerned about the growing military cooperation between Russia and China in the Arctic
The first US special envoy for Arctic affairs, Michael Sfraga, expressed serious concern regarding the growing military cooperation between Russia and China in the Arctic region. Joint military maneuvers of the two countries near American borders have triggered "alarming signals" in America. The flights of Russian and Chinese bombers near Alaska in July, as well as the patrolling by coast guard ships of both countries in the Bering Strait, especially alarmed Washington.
"The frequency and complexity of their cooperation is causing serious concern. We are closely monitoring the development of the situation," Sfraga stated.
Despite the fact that all maneuvers were carried out in international waters in accordance with international law, the US considers this activity a potential threat to regional security. Since Alaska is the western flank of NATO, America needs to bolster its defense capability and strengthen alliances, adds the envoy.
US allies also share the concern about Russia and China in the Arctic region, as the Bering Strait holds significant strategic importance as a waterway between the northern and southern parts of the Pacific Ocean. Previously, the Pentagon also expressed concern about the growing rapprochement between Russia and China in the Arctic in its July report.
