In Poltava, snow removal tractors fought against the rain.

After the hail and rain that occurred on May 20 in Poltava, some streets of the city were flooded. The most affected was the Sady-2 district, where cars were stuck in puddles and the sewage system was overflowing for several hours after the rain. This information was published by the 'Poltavshchyna' website, citing 'Glavkom'.
Witnesses saw how a driver tried to pull his Volkswagen Passat out of a large puddle after the engine exploded. This was not the only case; similar situations occurred on other streets of the city.
Two tractors with buckets arrived at the flooded area to drain the water from the streets. However, local residents report that this was ineffective - the water returned. People are outraged by the fact that the street where the flooding occurred was recently renovated with the aim of installing a modern drainage system.
The former utility company 'PMSHED', which handled stormwater sewage, has changed. Now, the responsibility for this is on KATP-1628. The municipal workers manually clean the grates and wells, but there is not enough specialized equipment for larger-scale work.
On April 1, a contract worth UAH 13.3 million was signed with LLC 'Transdorkom' for the repair and cleaning of the sewage system. Payment is expected after the work is completed.
Analysis:
According to the news, the problem with flooding in Poltava arose due to deficiencies in the drainage system and a lack of specialized equipment for its maintenance. This indicates the need for systematic reform and modernization of the infrastructure to prevent similar situations in the future.
