There will be more calorie-rich products in the diet of the Ukrainian Armed Forces: new standards from the Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry of Defense has set requirements for the calorie content of products provided for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This decision was made after inspections of military units, during which problems with the supply of products with insufficient calorie content were identified, the Ministry of Defense reported.
Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov noted that the physical and psychological burdens on servicemen in wartime conditions are high, and it is necessary that food products meet their needs for nutrition and energy value.
«Setting clear requirements for the energy value of products is a guarantee that our defenders will get what they need to maintain combat readiness and health», he emphasized.
It is expected that the Ministry of Defense's procurement agency, «State Logistics Operator», will start using these requirements as an addendum to state contracts for the procurement of food products, which will come into effect at the beginning of 2025.
Previously, the determination of energy value depended on the supplier during contract conclusion.
The new standards are enshrined in the document «Requirements for the Energy Value of Specific Food Products according to the Food Products Catalogue, the Indicators of which are Defined by State Standards».
Previously, the Ministry of Defense set new requirements for the quality control of items of clothing provision for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It should be noted that former commander of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade Colonel Oleksiy Khalabuda will be replaced by Roman Hladky as Chief of Staff of the Command of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
As of October 14, nearly 21,000 citizens have contacted the centers of the Ukrainian army.
