A military plane crashed into a residential building in Sudan: casualties reported.


Aviation accident occurred in Sudan, resulting in over 40 fatalities and at least 10 injuries. This was reported by 'Glavcom' citing Associated Press.
The plane fell in a densely populated area near a military airfield in the city of Omdurman, which is part of the capital of Sudan, Khartoum. Among the deceased are both military personnel and civilians.

Among the victims of the aviation accident is Major General Bar Ahmed, who previously held important positions in the Sudanese army.
The preliminary cause of the crash may be a technical malfunction.
Since April 2023, Sudan has been experiencing a war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. According to the UN and local authorities, over 20,000 people have died as a result of the conflict, and 14 million have become refugees and internally displaced persons.
Earlier in Toronto, an incident occurred during landing, during which a Delta Air Lines plane overturned. 18 passengers were injured.
An aviation accident was also reported in Brazil, where a plane crashed into public transport.
Recently in southern Arizona, two planes collided, resulting in the deaths of two people.
