A major check of a popular adult site will take place in the United Kingdom.

The British regulator will begin an audit of online porn services in May 2025
Ofcom has announced plans to conduct an audit of online pornography services, including the well-known site Pornhub. Starting July 25, 2025, porn service providers in the United Kingdom will be required to implement strict mechanisms to verify the age of their users. This was reported by Politico, citing Ofcom.
An Ofcom representative noted that such measures will contribute to the responsible use of pornography and protect user privacy. According to the new Online Safety Bill, providers will have to use reliable age verification methods to protect minors. Verification tools may include bank verification, security questions, and biometric confirmation.
Oliver Griffiths, Ofcom's online safety director:
“Society has long sought to protect children from harmful influences such as alcohol or gambling. However, accessing harmful content online has been easy. The new age checks will help reduce minors' access to pornography while ensuring anonymous access for adults,” he noted.
Additionally, the popular porn site Pornhub published data indicating that Ukraine has ranked among the top 20 countries by traffic for the second year in a row. Porn service providers in the United Kingdom must implement strict age verification mechanisms for users by July 25, 2025, as required by new legislation, to protect minors and enhance the privacy of adult users.
It is planned that from July 25, 2025, Ofcom will begin auditing online porn services, requiring them to introduce strict age verification methods to enhance safety and protect minors.Read also
