Ukraine became a world leader in fixed internet stability.

Ukraine took first place in the world for fixed internet stability, reported the Ministry of Digital Transformation. This became known from the Digital Quality of Life Index study for 2023.
According to the Digital Quality of Life Index ranking, Ukraine ranks 46th in five indicators: accessibility, quality, electronic infrastructure, electronic security, and electronic government. This study evaluated 121 countries.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation claims that such internet stability in Ukraine was achieved thanks to the implementation of PON technologies (fiber optics), which began to be used after power outages in 2022.
«One of the cases when the technology showed its advantages was in March 2024. At that Time, the Russians were shelling the energy infrastructure in Kharkiv and Odesa regions. Despite this, 100% of PON technology users had internet access during the 72-hour blackout period», - reported the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
It was previously reported that the working conditions of mobile operators' base stations were updated by the National Center for Operative-Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks under martial law conditions. Plans for maintaining mobile communication for three days in the event of a blackout were developed in advance.
Mobile operators are also preparing for possible power outages, as they expect a sharp increase in network load during outages when many people switch to mobile internet. This may lead to communication problems.
In case of communication problems, Ukrainians can report it in the "Diia" app.
