Ukraine and NATO held a 'secret' meeting in Kyiv: what was agreed.


On Saturday, April 26, a meeting of the Senior Supervisory Board of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Centre for Analysis, Preparation, and Education (JATEC) was held in Kyiv. High-ranking representatives from Ukraine and NATO were present at the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Tom Goffus, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations and head of the Senior Supervisory Board. He was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy Boiov, Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Apostol, and commander of JATEC Wojciech Ozga.
During the meeting, strategic directions for JATEC's work were discussed, and the results of previous assignments were summarized. Special attention was paid to involving partners in the Centre's work, improving information systems, refining educational programs, and training military personnel, as well as to joint development of solutions for battlefield challenges.
Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Boiov stated that the main goal of the Joint Centre is a just peace and strong security for Ukraine, which is important for both Ukraine and NATO.
Tom Goffus emphasized the significance of holding the meeting in Kyiv as a gesture of support for Ukraine from the Alliance. He noted that Ukraine and NATO are coming together for joint work in several areas.
After the meeting, the Senior Supervisory Board of JATEC outlined requirements for increasing the Centre's operational readiness and approved cooperation plans for the coming years.
