Ukraine opened a new border crossing point with Hungary.

Ukraine has launched the operation of a new border crossing point with Hungary, named 'Velika Palad' - 'Nad'godosh'. This point is designated for vehicles and passenger transport. Each day, 200 vehicles and pedestrians will be able to cross the border here. It is expected that, within a year, the capacity of this point will increase by 73 thousand vehicles and 220 thousand pedestrians.
The opening of the crossing point was announced by the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. He noted that this is part of the policy to modernize border infrastructure. In the long term, Ukraine plans to update 29 crossing points on the border and build 17 new ones. There will also be joint customs and border control with neighboring countries, upgrading of the technical base, and digitalization.
The crossing point is intended for the passage of passenger cars up to 3.5 tons and will operate daily from 7 AM to 6 PM. It will be important for creating a unified logistics space, which will ensure the rapid movement of people, goods, and services across the border. Details about the specific areas where the new crossing points will be located are not yet available.
