Ukraine has entered the top 3 of the Junior World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship for the first time in history.


The Ukrainian team of rhythmic gymnastics completed its performances at the Junior World Championship 2025 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Ukrainian gymnasts won two medals and finished third in the medal standings, according to 'Glavkom' citing 'Suspilne Sport'.
At the third Junior World Championship in history, eight sets of medals were contested. Ukrainian gymnasts participated in group exercises, where they made it to both individual finals and stood on the podium of the team all-around.
How the Ukrainian team performed
In the group all-around, the Ukrainian team, which included Anastasia Nikolenko, Oleksandra Nikole Samoukina, Kateryna Shershen, Taisiya Redka, Agata Bilenko, and Margarita Melnyk, won the bronze medal. They scored 48.400 points and only lost to the teams from Bulgaria and Brazil.
Ukraine also won its first gold in history in the individual final with 10 clubs. In another final with five hoops, our athletes finished sixth, trailing the leaders by one point.

For Ukraine, this third place in the medal standings is a new record at the Junior World Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Previously, in 2023, Ukrainian gymnasts finished fifth thanks to Taisiya Onofriichuk's silver in the clubs routine, and in 2019 they did not participate.
It is worth noting that gold and silver were won by Ukrainian fencers at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship.
The events at the 2025 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship confirmed the high athletic level of Ukrainian gymnasts. The Ukrainian team demonstrated impressive results, winning two medals and taking third place in the medal standings. The silver and gold at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship added a brilliant start to the medal journey for Ukrainian athletes.Read also
