Ukraine made a tough statement on 'security guarantees' and NATO.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated the necessity of full membership in NATO. This position was announced ahead of the ministerial meeting of the alliance. Ukraine criticizes previous security agreements and expresses its clear stance on future security. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga will present this position during the meeting in Brussels.
The official document states that the only real security guarantee for Ukraine is full membership in NATO. The country rejects any alternative formats or replacement of security agreements. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the signatories of the Budapest Memorandum to support an immediate invitation for Ukraine to join the alliance. The document notes that this concerns not only the security of Ukraine but also the global system of international guarantees and trust in nuclear disarmament processes.
The statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is a diplomatic departmental document that combines critical analysis of the past and a vision for future security.
