Ukrainians have had their pension size changed in April: how much they started to pay.

The press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine reported an increase in pensions in Ukraine in April. As of March 1, the planned pension indexation took place, which led to an increase in their sizes by 9.5%. Currently, the average pension amounts to 6,341.11 hryvnias, which is 552.06 hryvnias more than at the beginning of the year. Starting from April 2024, pensions have increased by 10.4%. However, this growth was not enough to cover expenses due to rising prices and inflation. As a result, the real purchasing power of pensions decreased by 4%.
According to the information from the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the number of pensioners in the country decreased by 12,255 people. As of April 1, 2025, there were 10,331,375.
The largest pension increase occurred in March 2025 due to planned indexation. The recalculation was made automatically from March 1. The indexation amounted to 11.5% and affected recipients of pensions from the solidarity system, veterans, those affected by the Chernobyl disaster, and other categories. The maximum increase cannot exceed 1,500 hryvnias, and if the increase is less than 100 hryvnias, pensioners are assigned an additional supplement to the minimum level.
It is currently planned that pensions will not be increased until March next year, as the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum are frozen.
