The Ukrainian government has decided to establish centers for training citizens for national resistance in all regions of the country. The procedure for the operation of these centers and the requirements for their functioning were approved by a Cabinet of Ministers resolution. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky gave the corresponding instructions during a meeting with representatives of civil society. The development of the document was coordinated by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the President's Office. Representatives of military structures, regional military administrations, as well as public and volunteer organizations participated in the working sessions. According to the Office of the President's report, the heads of the centers will be appointed by regional councils based on recommendations from regional military administrations. Regional military administrations will also be responsible for controlling, monitoring, and evaluating the activities of the centers, providing quarterly reports to the Ministry of Defense. A standard training program will be approved for territorial defense forces, and the heads of centers and instructors will primarily be veterans. 'The training of civilian citizens to counter the enemy is an integral part of our defense capability and one of the factors in deterring the enemy. This is also one of the drivers of resilience and cohesion in society,' said Iryna Vereshchuk. National resistance instructors will undergo training and certification in military higher educational institutions. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees to implement the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the imposition of sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities from Russia and China.
