Cash Salaries — Hetmancev Named How Much the Country Loses.

The head of the financial committee, Danilo Hetmancev, explained on the program 'Unpacking with Hetmancev' that the total amount of shadow salaries of Ukrainians in cash exceeds 200 billion hryvnias.
Harms of Shadow Salaries
Receiving a salary 'in cash' leads to people being without the necessary legal protection in the area of social payments. This can affect the receipt of sick leave, maternity leave, and pensions. In addition, such practices can lead to serious fines for employers or even criminal liability.
According to Hetmancev, due to the recent events in the east of the country, some entrepreneurs have stopped avoiding taxation through 'shadow' schemes and have begun to comply with the law. It is worth noting that analyzing the financial statements of companies can help identify examples of using shadow mechanisms.
Hetmancev also expressed concern about insufficient social support in Ukraine and is considering the possibility of shortening the work week to four days.
According to information, Ukrainians hide over 200 billion hryvnias in shadow salaries, losing social protection and creating problems for business and the economy of the country. Efforts by officials and entrepreneurs to comply with the law and increase transparency can positively affect the socio-economic development of the country.
