Zelensky explained why the Kursk operation is still ongoing.


The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the 'Kursk' operation helps to restrain Russian troops from activity on the territory of Ukraine. He made the evening address on May 31.
Zelensky emphasized that the situation at the front remains tense, especially as fighting is taking place in several directions. The President considers the continuation of the 'Kursk' operation very important, as it limits the capabilities of the Russian military on the territory of Ukraine.
'The war must move to the territory of Russia - from where it came,' emphasized the president.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskiy, Ukrainian troops are holding their ground in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where Russia is actively advancing. It is also reported that Russian troops have launched a large-scale offensive, having taken 18 Ukrainian settlements in a week and captured significant territory, particularly active in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
