As noted by the fund, former employees of law enforcement agencies who have dependents in their household are entitled to a special allowance. This refers to an additional payment for minors.

This right is stipulated in the law 'On the Pension Provision of Persons Released from Military Service and Some Other Persons'.

To qualify for the corresponding allowance, the following requirements must be met:

• the children in care must be under the age of 18;
• the applicant for the payments must not have been employed or engaged in entrepreneurial activity.

Additionally, the allowances are granted only for those family members who do not have other pension payments, payments for persons with disabilities, persons with disabilities from childhood, or child benefits for single mothers.

At the same Time, if there are two or more military pensioners in the family, each dependent family member counted for the additional payments will only be considered for one of them at their discretion.

The supplement is set at 50% of the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work. In 2025, this figure is set at 2361 UAH. Thus, the additional payment amounts to 1180 UAH.

How to receive the additional pension for children

If military pensioners meet the requirements, to claim the allowance, they need to contact the PFU department and provide:

• an application (of an approved form);
• birth certificates of the children;
• marriage certificate;
• certificate from the educational institution about the child's enrollment;
• a certificate from the authorized body at the place of residence about the family composition indicating that the pensioner is supporting a child;
• a certificate on the applicant and spouse from the social protection department at the place of residence regarding their registration status.
