Fire at Saransk plant due to drone attack
Last night, a large-scale fire broke out at the Saransk fiber optic production plant due to a drone attack. This plant is the only one in Russia that produces fiber optic cables intended for controlling drones during the war with Ukraine. The first attack on the plant occurred on April 5.
Several kilometers from the affected area are the Saransk Mechanical Plant and the plant 'Saranskabel-Optika'. Media reports suggest that they may have also suffered damage from the attack.
Recently, on the night of May 7, strike drones attacked Moscow and the Moscow region. Air defense systems were recorded in this area, shooting down flying objects and debris falling.
